With the current COVID-19 looming over everyone, those with young children or elderly at home are understandably more concerned about keeping hygiene standards high. Hongkong star Pakho Chau, who welcomed his first child in December, has become extra cautious and he recently shared how he is trying his best to keep his daughter Sonya safe and healthy.

For one, he has decided against holding a 100th day bash for his little girl. The 35-year-old, who married stylist Stephanie Chu in 2016, shared, “We might have a meal together as a family, but we won’t be inviting our friends this time around. I don’t think it’s a good idea to have a celebration because there’s no point in having one since everyone should be wearing a mask anyway.”

He added that he has all but stopped meeting his friends outside of work so as to minimise contact with others and reduce the chances of bringing germs or viruses home.

Pakho also let on that Sonya has only left their house once since her birth. That one time was so that she could get her jabs done at the hospital. “I’m worried to bring her out because I can’t find masks suitable for babies,” he confessed. “Rather than take risks, we decided not to bring her out at all.”

His daily ritual once he gets home is to disinfect the soles of his shoes, take a shower and change his clothes before he allows himself to carry his bundle of joy.

There was also the time the actor wore a mask for an entire week because he had a slight cough and was worried of spreading it to his family. He even wore the mask to sleep, and because of the long hours that he kept the mask on, the back of his ears started to chafe and bleed.

Now this is one dad who is definitely not taking any chances with his little girl.
