It's no secret that Rainie Yang has taken the tragic passing of Alien Huang especially hard. She dated the late star for three years when they were both students at Hua Gang High School of Performing Arts and they remained close even after they broke up. And in the touching tribute that she posted shortly after his death, Rainie wrote that she “won’t pretend that [she's] doing well”.

On September 30, Rainie, 36, released her latest single ‘Singing In The Rain’. And in an IG post she shared: “I put all the longing that I have into this song. I sang this song for you in the rain.” While the singer, who is married to Chinese singer
Li Ronghao, didn’t specify who she was referring to, netizens surmised that she’s likely talking about Alien.

The song’s lyrics have further backed up this claim, as they include lines like, “I’m just fine. Not great, not terrible. Don’t worry about me being alone. It’s just that you’ve left [my side]”.

Another part of the song goes: “[I] walk around without you. I’ll live a good life,” along with “I hear your voice in every moment of my dreams; I guess I’m still unable to forget [you]”.

Fans of Rainie have banded together to show her support, leaving messages like, “I believe Alien has heard your voice wherever he may be right now .

Rainie has since explained in an interview that the song is dedicated to those who are missing someone in their lives. “Regardless of whether you’re lovers living in different places, or you have a family member who isn't around anymore, or perhaps a friend that you've lost contact with, [this song is for you],” she said.
