Remember Cynthia Rothrock, The Caucasian Woman In '80s Hongkong Action Movies? This Is What She Looks Like Now
The martial arts legend is 63 and still super fit.
Anyone who is a fan of Hongkong action flicks in the ’80s would surely know who Cynthia Rothrock is. The ass-kicking American martial artist, who was credited as Law Foo Lok in the films, had starred in some of the biggest movies of that era, like 1985’s Yes Madam! and 1988’s The Inspector Wears Skirts.
She worked with, and by that we mean fought with Hongkong’s biggest action stars including Michelle Yeoh, Andy Lau, Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung, and is one of the most iconic “da nu” (Cantonese for action heroines) of all time, paving the way for women to carry action movies. Fun fact: It’s also said that she’s the inspiration behind video game Mortal Kombat’s Sonya Blade.

When the ‘90s came along and the Hongkong film industry started to cut back on its output, Cynthia moved back to America, where she became known for starring in B-grade action movies, like Martial Law (1990). Cynthia, who was a five time World Champion in forms and weapons between 1981 to 1985, also started her own martial arts studio and went into coaching.
Now 63, she is still as fit as ever. And very, very active on social media, often posting pics of her impressive physique on Instagram. Cynthia, who has a daughter with her ex-husband, also runs her own YouTube channel where she shares with her followers workout tips as well as never-before-heard stories of her experiences on the set of those classic Hongkong movies.
