Chinese-Canadian singer Kris Wu’s arrest on July 31 on suspicions of rape has sent the internet into overdrive.

The 30-year-old was accused by influencer Du Meizhu of preying on young fans in a series of posts that were uploaded last month. Following that, at least 24 other women have also come forward with their own allegations against the former EXO member.

While police investigations are still undergoing, Chinese media have been sharing updates on the case which they claim have been made known to them by those privy to the situation.

One of the most shocking claims is that the digital forensic team managed to uncover deleted messages between Kris and his team and friends. Among the messages was a video of an unconscious young girl being dragged into a hotel room, where she was allegedly raped by Kris.

The reports also claimed that the girl in the video is a 13-year-old fan from Shanghai.

1 of 2 These allegations are damning, to say the least

According to these reports, the charges against Kris include unauthorised filming of sexual acts, bribery, gang rape, date rape, and drug abuse.

It has been widely reported that Kris had used a new type of drug, nicknamed ‘guai guai shui’ (literally translated to ‘obedient water’), that would render his victims unable to put up a fight against anyone forcing himself on them.

With the list of his alleged crimes growing longer every day, Chinese lawyers have weighed in on the possible sentences Kris would face should he be found guilty of those crimes.

They shared that his Canadian citizenship would not grant him any form of leniency as crimes committed on Chinese soil must be persecuted under Chinese law.

2 of 2 Investigations will reveal what really happened

They added that Kris would have to serve a minimum of a three to 10 year jail sentence even if his lawyers put up a strong defense for him.

If the court finds him guilty of sexually assaulting minors, or if he has been found to have sexually assaulted multiple victims, he could be sentenced to life imprisonment or be given the death sentence.

If he is given a jail sentence, he would likely be deported from China after serving time and barred from entering the country for life.
