Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo rarely talk about their three-year marriage, which has led to the media speculating that there’s trouble in paradise. Yesterday (Dec 26), Ruby, 43, surprised everyone by posting two photos — one on Facebook and one on Weibo — of Wallace’s 40th birthday celebration. And that’s not all, there was also an uncharacteristically sweet caption to go with the post. “Happy Birthday my dear… love you,” she wrote in both English and Chinese.

Their fans were shocked by this very rare public display of affection but lapped it up nonetheless. “This is too sweet!” wrote one netizen. And just like that, Ruby swiftly crushed those rumours that they are facing problems in their marriage.

Wallace and Ruby met on the set of TV drama Sound of Colours in 2006 and Wallace once admitted in an interview that he had developed a crush on her then though he didn’t act on it. They stayed as pals for 10 years until 2016 when romance blossomed. They got married the same year in Bali and Ruby gave birth to their daughter the following year.
