Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin, 44, dating Taiwanese former pop idol Jimmy Lin, 46, in the ’90s isn’t brand new information to the public.

But what came as a surprise to many is just how close her husband, Taiwanese actor Wallace Huo, 40, is with Jimmy now.

Their friendship first made the news in June when Jimmy posted a pic of him celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival with Wallace at his home… sans Ruby.

Most recently, Wallace was seen at Jimmy’s mother’s 70th birthday celebration, and no, he wasn’t just a guest. According to reports, Wallace appeared more like one of the hosts and even stayed back to bid the other guests farewell.

So just how did Jimmy and Wallace get so close?

At an event on Wednesday (Oct 14), Ruby revealed that she’s the reason the two men even know each other. “They had some stuff to discuss, so I helped to connect them by exchanging their WeChat contacts with each other,” she said, adding that her relationship with Jimmy happened so long and that they “were so young back then”.

But who knew that Wallace and Jimmy would hit it off so well, right?

In fact, even Ruby and Jimmy’s kids are pals. Ruby, who has a three-year-old daughter nicknamed ‘Little Dolphin’ with Wallace, shared that her kid and Jimmy’s five-year twin boys are playmates too. Sadly, she’s rarely there because of work. “Their gatherings are always over by the time I end work,” she lamented. Which was also why she was MIA at Jimmy’s mother’s birthday celebration.
