It looks like Taiwanese stars Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo may have figured out that the best way to dispel those pesky divorce rumours is to pile on the online PDA.

On Tuesday (Jan 26), which was the day before Ruby turned 45, she attended a promotional event for her new drama The Arc of Life and was asked what Wallace has planned for her birthday. She replied: “He said he would make a reservation at a restaurant, and that all I have to do is show up.”

Sure enough, she took to her socials in the wee hours of Thursday morning (Jan 28) to share a bunch of photos from the celebration, the most eye-catching of which is a sweet shot of Wallace, 41, embracing her from behind (see below).

“Thank you, my dear, [you] planned this so carefully,” she wrote in her caption. “[I’m] happy. I don’t have any big wishes for my birthday. I just hope that all of you whom I love will be safe, healthy, and happy.”

1 of 5 Aww, they should definitely post more pictures like this

As seen in the rest of her pics, Wallace didn’t just book a table and call it a day.

In addition to having the venue decked out in balloons, he also prepared at least two different cakes: one in the shape of a giant longevity peach bun, and another that’s topped with a Golden Horse Award and a Golden Bell Award, presumably to wish her luck for when awards season rolls around again.

Ruby and Wallace, who tied the knot in 2016 and have a four-year-old daughter together, tend to be a lot more low-key about their relationship — especially compared to some other super lovey-dovey celeb couples — so this rare display of affection was certainly a treat for fans.

Unfortunately, their penchant for privacy has encouraged rumour-mongers to constantly speculate that they’re headed for Splitsville. The gossip intensified when a Taiwanese paper spotted them having a fight on the streets in October last year, although the pair was able to convince everyone that all is well with at Ruby’s dad’s birthday party a couple of weeks later.

Ruby also laughed off the negative rumours when asked about it recently, saying: “We never discuss things that are untrue.”
