A couple of weeks ago, Taiwanese celeb couple Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo got the gossip mill churning when their public tiff was unfortunately caught by paparazzi, reigniting those divorce rumours that have been plaguing them every now and then. Wallace showing up at Matilda Tao’s birthday party without Ruby a few days later certainly didn’t help things either.

Last night (Nov 4), they finally silenced those Splitsville speculations in a very big — and very sweet — way. Ruby’s dad turned 70 and held a big celebration at a hotel with many celebs in attendance, including Vivian Hsu, Pauline Lan, Chen Meifeng, and of course, Ruby and Wallace, who arguably stole the show with their ultra-cute PDA.

It all started when Wallace went up on stage and said, “There are a lot of good friends, elders, and seniors here today, and I hope everyone is happy. We didn’t plan on singing at first ‘cos we can’t sing as well as my father-in-law.” Still trying to score points with the in-laws after four years of marriage? Nice.

When someone pointed out to him, “Your wife says you sing well”, the 40-year-old actor exclaimed with a laugh, “Are you talking about my wife? She has never praised me before!” This prompted Ruby, who was standing in front of the stage, to wave her hand and shout, “I’m here!”

With a little more coaxing, Wallace finally agreed to sing Jacky Cheung’s ‘Xin Ru Dao Ge’ (fun fact: the first two characters of the title are the same ones in Ruby’s Chinese name Lin Xin Ru, which may or may not be a coincidence) and Chen Lei’s ‘Wang Shi Jiu Shi Wo De An Wei’.

Ruby joined him on stage during his performances and the 44-year-old actress looked like she was enjoying herself, not to mention utterly smitten with her husband. Needless to say, it was an extremely effective way of putting any unflattering talk about their marriage to rest.

Group pictures shared by other guests at the event also show that Ruby and Wallace, who have a three-year-old daughter together, are still very much in love… or at the very least, that their high-profile quarrel didn’t affect them that much after all, even if they both ended up going home separately while looking super miserable. Well, nobody said that relationships would be a smooth-sailing bed of roses all the time, right?
