In case you’ve lost track of time ‘cos of the Circuit Breaker, Mother’s Day was yesterday (May 10). And spoiling market for all of us was Hongkong actor Simon Yam.

Late last year, the 65-year-old actor was in Australia for work and Simon’s wife, Chinese supermodel Qi Qi and their 15-year-old daughter, Ella, popped over for a visit as well.

While in Australia, the family-of-three shot some photos for luxury brand Dior but instead of getting snapped by a professional photographer, it was Simon who helmed the camera instead.

“There is nothing better than this. Working hard together, dreaming together, spending time together. That’s the best Mother’s Day [present],” wrote Qi Qi, who revealed that it was Simon's first time stepping behind the camera”.

The 52-year-old model also said that it was bitterly cold on the day of the shoot and that everyone was wrapped up in thick winter coats except for her and Ella. .

“Ella and Simon ended up with a cold and had to drink ginger tea to warm their bodies up, but I think it was all worth it,” Qi Qi added.

It's clear from the photos that Ella oozes cool just like her mum and that Simon has an eye for capturing the two most important women in his life. No wonder Qi Qi loves the pics.

“This is a very good memento for Mother’s Day. It's also a good record of Ella’s youth. It was the school holidays for Ella then, if it was during the school term, we wouldn’t be able to have the photo shoot,” she said.

She went on to praise her husband’s photography skills, saying: “Simon has always liked taking pictures of scenery. This time round, he said he was very happy to photograph us, as it can serve as a keepsake for Ella [when she's older]. This is a form of happiness that’s hard to come by, it feels like we’re with her every step of the way as she grows up.”

Now, we may not have matching Dior bags at home, but hey, snapping a few pictures to serve as a personalised Mother’s Day present ain’t so hard, right?
