Fellow actors and friends of Ng Man Tat have offered their care and support for the star after it was reported that he is suffering from liver cancer and undergoing chemotherapy in hospital.

Stephen Chow, who was rumoured to have had a fallout with Man Tat, is one the stars who reached out to him.

The pair’s mutual friend, actor Tin Kai Man, told Apple Daily that Stephen had contacted him to ask about Man Tat’s condition and if he could help in any way.

He added that Stephen has always been caring towards his friends, though he is low key about it.

For those of you who missed the heyday of their signature slapstick schtick, Man Tat and Stephen were almost inseparable on screen in the ‘90s. They collaborated on many ‘90s and noughties comedy movie hits such as Fight Back to School and The God of Cookery, and their last movie together was 2001’s Shaolin Soccer.

The pair reportedly fell out in 2004 when Stephen took Man Tat’s lead actor role in Kungfu Hustle for himself.

Though Man Tat denied reports of a fallout, he admitted that their relationship was not as close as it was before, which was regrettable. Describing their relationship as old pals who don't see each other anymore”, he said Stephen invited him to participate in 2016 fantasy flick The Mermaid but he declined due to poor health.
