Taiwanese actress Ady An gave birth to her second child, a daughter, in October and to celebrate the bundle of joy turning two months old, she did something all of us can only dream of during this pandemic: she threw a huge party.

On December 22, the proud mum shared photos of the star-studded bash on Facebook, writing: “My dear daughter Aria (…) although you might not understand why mummy, your older bother and everyone else were so happy, it’s alright since you’ll know the reason when you grow up. To [my husband] who couldn’t make it to the party because of the pandemic, I have one more night of happiness as compared to you!”

The 40-year-old is married to Levo Chen, who is the CEO of Macau’s Tak Chun Group, which owns and operates gaming clubs in hotels in Macau, where he is currently based.

Among the guests present at the baby's bash were host
Dee Hsu, actor Mike He, actress-turned-socialite Terri Kwan and movie producer Charles Heung with his family.

But not everyone was wowed by the star power with netizens grousing about Ady holding an “unnecessary” party in the midst of a pandemic.

“Taiwan has managed to keep our COVID-19 numbers low because we’ve all been so careful. The photos she uploaded are just of the celeb guests, so she definitely had more people at the party. Is this the right time for a big gathering?” complained one netizen.

Another said: “She’s admitted that her daughter doesn’t even understand what’s going on. So isn’t this party just for her to show off that she’s lost weight since giving birth? Does she think the pandemic is over? We just had a new case of local transmission this week!”
