Takuya Kimura's Eldest Daughter Makes Modelling Debut; Amasses Over 171,000 IG Followers In Two Days
Her younger sister, Mitsuki ‘Koki’ Kimura, now has competition.
So it seems Mitsuki ‘Koki’ Kimura, 17, isn’t the only daughter of Japanese superstar Takuya Kimura and his wife, ’90s pop star Shizuka Kudo, to be making a splash in the fashion world.
Takuya's 19-year-old daughter, and Koki's elder sister, Kokomi, is now on her way to mimicking her sibling's modelling success.
Kokomi, who also goes by Cocomi, is the cover girl for the latest issue of Vogue Japan and is also the Japanese face of Dior.
This is the first time the 19-year-old has graced the cover of a magazine. And her Dior gig is also a career first for her.
And Koki’s super proud of her.
“Congratulations sis! You are the most beautiful person I know inside and out and you are definitely the best sister in the world. I'm so happy that I get to finally share your pictures. Love you!” Koki proudly declared on IG earlier yesterday (Mar 19). She also tagged Kokomi in the post.
Kokomi, who was previously inactive on social media, now has an Instagram account (@cocomi_553_official). And in just two days, she has amassed over 171,000 followers. In contrast, Koki had 66,000 IG followers when she first entered showbiz in 2018. So does this mean big sister is more popular?
Just like Koki, Kokomi’s also known for her innumerable talents. Not only is she fluent in several languages including English and French, the budding model can also play the violin and flute.
It's said Kokomi is the student of Kanda Hiroaki, the principal flutist at the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and she has emerged first place in national flute competitions.
While it was reported in January that Koki is way too busy with modelling to attend school, Kokomi prioritises her education and will be entering Toho Gakuen University in April this year.
