Vivian Hsu’s Stepdaughters Look Just Like Her. Wait, What?
It's hard to believe that they’re not related by blood.
When Vivian Hsu married Singapore-based Indonesian businessman Sean Lee in 2014, she also became a mum to his two daughters from a previous marriage. Little is known about the two teenagers, whose names remain a mystery, but judging from Vivian’s Instagram post on Mother’s Day, they look exactly like how you would expect Vivian's daughters to look like. Which is strange since they are not genetically related at all.
A few years back, Vivian came under fire from netizens who accused her of being an “evil stepmother” because the star only posted photos of her son Dalton while barely mentioning her two stepdaughters, on social media. It was a bizarre accusation which Vivian later addressed. According to Viv, her stepdaughters, who she lovingly calls her “daughters”, are in that teenage phase where they have started paying more attention to their looks and privacy. And having their mugs on display on Vivian’s IG, where the star has 1.1mil followers, is not something publicity-shy teenagers want. “Every time I post a photo of my daughters, I have to make sure I ask for their permission first. This is basic respect. And so, it’s not appropriate to post their photos too frequently,” added Vivian.
So we guess Vivian’s recent Mother’s Day post, where she uploaded this photo of her happy family of five, was approved by her daughters. Though we’re not sure how they’re taking to the online commotion it has caused. Netizens were taken aback by how similar the girls, with their big doe eyes and impish smiles, resemble Vivian. So much so that if you didn't know their family history, you would think that all three ladies are related. In fact, the youthful-looking Viv, who is 44, looks more like their older sister.

Vivian also posted a picture of the gifts she received from her kids along with this message: “When kids are still young, they don’t understand that mothers only have time to eat after the food gets cold, that they get scalded by oil when they cook, that they have to rush through their shower, that they are the last ones in the family to sleep, and that sometimes they get so tired they vomit white foam (smiley face). Mother’s Day is a day that belongs to mothers… Mummy doesn’t particularly like to celebrate such occasions, and I don’t need presents. I only wish that my kids can use this occasion to learn how to be grateful people. I want to thank daddy for guiding the kids to be thoughtful when writing the cards, and I also want to thank the teachers for bringing the little brooch Dalton made himself. My greatest joy comes from the kids becoming responsible and understanding. My daughters have grown up, their message to me was filled with humour, love and it showed how much they understand me. It makes me smile and I feel so touched. Thank you both and your dad for loving me.”
