Remember when Ruby Lin uploaded a declaration of love for husband Wallace Huo for planning her 45th birthday party? At the time, Wallace was praised by netizens for being extra attentive with the party decor. Turns out that praise was indeed well-deserved as a Taiwanese magazine published a report, which revealed that Wallace is an even better husband than everyone thought he was.

On Jan 26, Ruby had a full schedule as she attended the press conference for her current drama The Arc Of Life before heading to the wrap party for her other series, Blue Hour. The cast and crew drank and made merry at the Ambassador Hotel Taipei for four hours before deciding to go for a second round of drinks at a bar to celebrate Ruby’s birthday in advance. The merrymaking continued for eight hours and they finally called it a day past 3am.

A source who claimed to have been at both parties told the media that Wallace was present at both events, although he tried his best to keep a low profile as Ruby enjoyed her time with the Blue Hour team. Ruby was spotted having a great time with castmates Cheryl Yang, Puff Kuo, Nikki Hsieh and Rhydian Vaughan, while Wallace sat at a separate table and only spoke to Xiu Jie Kai when the latter approached him.

After the party ended, Ruby and Wallace were driven home by a designated driver. When they got home, Ruby was a little unsteady on her feet when she alighted the car. Her ever-attentive husband immediately held out his hand for her for support. Although he too had drinks throughout the night, he made sure that he was sober enough to look after her.

Netizens complimented Wallace for his gentlemanly actions, with one writing, “They’ve been married for almost five years, and any married couple would be able to tell you that it’s not easy to stay this considerate to your other half after that long. He’s the perfect husband.” Others agreed, with one gushing, “It might not have been a grand gesture, but what he did is really touching. Who says chivalry is dead?”
