William So Went For A Full-Body Checkup After Gaining “A Lot Of Weight” During His Hiatus
He says he was worried that he might have developed a serious health condition.
Hongkong singer William So made a special appearance at a beauty pageant yesterday (Nov 1), where he fielded more questions from the media about his physical appearance than the pageant contestants themselves, who were competing for a spot in the finals.
And the reason for the third degree interrogation? Well, according to Hongkong media and the 53-year-old himself, he had put on a “a lot of weight” since the last time he appeared on TV six months ago.
According to William, he’s been staying at home since he stopped appearing on ViuTV’s Chill Club in May, which might be the reason for his weight gain.
“It's alright to gain some weight, but it’s not good in the long run,” he said, adding that he was so worried about his weight gain that he went for a comprehensive full-body checkup.
“I did a very comprehensive body checkup, and examined all the areas that needed to be examined. The results were not bad, I don’t have hypertension and diabetes and my cholesterol level is not high. My mum has rectal cancer, while my dad has pancreatic cancer, like [Hongkong film director] Wilson Chin [who passed away in late October]. My family has a history of cancer, and my son [Jazz] is only three this year. I’m afraid that [the cancer’s] hereditary, so I made sure to go for a comprehensive checkup,” he explained.
William went on to share that he’s since lost four kilograms, and that he intends to stick to a healthy diet and exercise plan to shake off the weight he’s gained this year.
