Wu Chun’s private life has been thrust into the spotlight recently because of his new reality show, Before Marriage. From revealing the exact year he tied the knot with his wife Lin Liying, to giving viewers an envy-inducing glimpse of his spacious home in Brunei, the 40-year-old has been hogging headlines.

In a recent episode of Before Marriage, Wu Chun and Liying gathered with their family at their spacious abode, with Liying revealing the solo wedding portraits she had taken 15 years ago.

As it turns out, Liying had taken these pictures alone ‘cos Wu Chun was busy being a member of Taiwanese boyband Fahrenheit then, and they couldn’t risk the wedding pictures getting out since they had tied the knot in secret.

“I was in Taiwan at that time,” Wu Chun shared, adding, “We couldn’t go public [with our relationship], if I were at the shoot, the whole world would know [about our marriage]! So, we were left with no choice.”

Wu Chun then went on to share that he had tried to persuade Liying to do a wedding shoot together multiple times, but she rejected him every time, even after he had already gotten a photographer and lined up a number of possible shoot locations.

In order to change Liying’s mind, Wu Chun’s family then took out an album containing pictures from all their respective wedding shoots. They then flipped to the very end of the album, revealing that they had kept a slot empty... for Wu Chun and Liying.

“We're just missing a picture of the two of you, this spot is yours,” they shared enthusiastically.

Liying eventually gave in to their request, sharing that she believed that there was no need to retake the photos, since she was already 40. But she changed her mind after seeing the family photo album.

“I think it would be good to be able to look back at the [new] wedding photos again when I’m older,” she said.
