Xiao Bin Bin’s Child Star Son Xiao Xiao Bin Is Now 15 And He Just Wants To Lead A Normal Life
It has something to do with people coming up to him and saying that he's not cute anymore .
Remember the wildly-popular 2009 Taiwanese drama series, Autumn's Concerto, which starred Ady An and Vanness Wu? If you were a fan of the show (or Taiwanese dramas from that period), you would definitely remember the scene-stealing child actor Xiao Xiao Bin, who is the son of '80s child star Xiao Bin Bin and whose performance as the super-cute Xiao Le catapulted him to stardom.
Although he was only five then, the very precocious Xiao Xiao Bin, whose real name is Wen Xuan Ye, became a showbiz sensation, not unlike his father back in the '80s, and he went on to appear in a number of television dramas and variety shows.
However, once he entered primary school in 2015, his father started to turn down showbiz offers for Xiao Xiao Bin because he wanted the boy to focus on school.
Recently, Xiao Bin Bin uploaded a throwback post on his Facebook, reminiscing about Xiao Xiao Bin’s time in the spotlight.
The post brought about a number of comments from netizens, with some wondering if this meant that his son would be making his showbiz comeback.
On March 17, Xiao Bin Bin made a statement clarifying his earlier post, sharing that Xiao Xiao Bin, who’s 15 this year, is busy studying for his high school entrance exams.
He then went on to share that Xiao Xiao Bin doesn't enjoy getting recognised in public now that he's older as people would point at him and say that he’s “not cute anymore ,
Once, a reporter even secretly recorded a video of Xiao Xiao Bin hanging with his friends outside a movie theatre. The reporter than wrote an unflattering story about the teen, who felt that his privacy had been invaded.
As a result, Xiao Xiao Bin is determined to lead a normal life now as he doesn’t want to invite unnecessary scrutiny from the public.
Xiao Bin Bin also shared that his son was against the idea of going to a performing arts high school. However, Xiao Bin Bin managed to persuade him to reconsider his decision, after sharing his own experience.
“If you’re interested in this area, you should study [in a performing arts high school]. When I was studying in Taipei Hwa Kang Arts School, all the students were competing to see who was better-looking, and the conversation would always revolve around acting. In an environment like that, you wouldn’t feel as if you’re different from everyone else, and you’ll be happier,” he reportedly told his son.
