A recent video of Chinese actress Yang Mi heading into a film studio in China has gotten a lot of attention online — and not for a good reason.

The video itself starts off innocently. Yang Mi, who’s dressed casually in an oversized tee and shorts, gets out of her car and heads into the film studio along with her entourage via a sheltered walkway that's been fenced up. A number of fans and photographers holding mobile phones could be seen standing just outside the fence and filming the 33-year-old actress.

However, what riled up Yang Mi’s fans was how a number of those 'photogs' decided to shove their phones through the barriers to film the actress as she walked past.

Due to the angle of their phones, fans believe that these 'photogs' were deliberately trying to film Yang Mi as she was going up the stairs so as to capture an upskirt video. According to them, these 'photogs' are not fans of Yang Mi. Instead, they make a living from capturing pictures and videos of celebrities, and then selling them to interested parties to make a quick buck.

The actress’ furious fans have been messaging Yang Mi’s management agency, Jaywalk Studios, via Weibo over the past few days, asking them to tighten Yang Mi’s security detail. As a result, the topic “Yang Mi filmed by malicious photographers” became the third most-talked about topic on Weibo, with a large number of people condemning the 'photographers’ vile act.
