Zhang Zhenhuan Is Now Zhang Zhen Xuan, Says His Old Name Was Too Complicated
This will take some getting used to.
Former Mediacorp actor Zhang Zhenhuan has changed his name to Zhang Zhen Xuan. The 35-year-old shared in an interview with Lianhe Zaobao that he hopes that the new name will signify a new chapter in his life, and that this is a decision he’s been mulling over for some time.
“I always felt that the ‘Huan’ character in my name was too complicated to write. I thought of using a stage name, but I never got around to doing it,” he explained. A fortune teller helped him choose ‘Xuan’ based on his bazi (or 'eight characters', which refers to his birth year, month, day and hour) and he decided to go with it as he liked it as well.
A new name isn't the only change in his life. Zhenhuan, or should we say Zhen Xuan, signed a contract with Zhejiang Xinghe Culture Agency late last year. His manager, Wang Jinghua, is billed as one of the top managers in China and has worked with many A-listers such as Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing and Hu Jun.
After returning to China, Zhenhuan has been based in Beijing and recently went back to his hometown in Sichuan for Chinese New Year.
He has no confirmed acting projects on his plate yet and he said that he wouldn't rule out taking on jobs in Singapore, if time permits.
His last acting project here was Toggle Original I Am Madam.
