The aptly named ‘Unlucky Bast**d’ (played by the movie’s screenwriter David Koepp) tries to take cover in a video rental store, only to end up in the T-Rex’s tummy. Truly suay.

From Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) Mercenary boss and avid dino teeth collector Ken Wheatley (Ted Levine) tries to extract a fang from a sedated Indoraptor. Unbeknownst to him, the hybrid dinosaur is only pretending to be sedated. (Guess he didn’t skip the memo about the Indoraptor having bulletproof skin? The movie’s only memorable death is grisly, but we saw it coming from a mile away.

From The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) When the villain is the victim, you root for the dinosaurs. Sadistic poacher Dieter Stark (Peter Stormare) and his cattle prod are no match for a pack of pint-sizedCompsognathusesthat come at him like piranhas on land and tear him to bits (off-screen, of course). A search party recovers his corpse but “just the parts [the Compsognathuses] didn’t like.”

From Jurassic World (2015) Amid the pandemonium in the theme park, Zara (Supergirl’s Katie McGrath), Bryce Dallas Howard’s PA, is snatched by a Pteranodon and dropped into the lagoon. She then gets scooped up by another Pteranodon but before it flies off with the catch of the day, the Mosasaurus jumps out of the water and devours them both. There’s always a bigger fish.

He didn’t deserve the death he got: to be torn in half by two T-Rexes. Eddie Carr, we barely knew you.

From Jurassic Park (1993) Company turncoat Dennis Nedry (Wayne Night) gets his comeuppance when he’s blinded by the venom spat from a “stupid” Dilophosaurs. It gets better: he is trapped in a Jeep with one. Dinner is served! Never mind how the Dilophosaurs manages to sneak into the vehicle (there must be two of them, right?), the build up to Dennis’ demise is nerve-wracking.

From The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) A group of clueless hunters make the fatal mistake of taking a short cut through a patch of long grass where they are stealthily picked off one by one by the gambolling raptors. We’ve seen the raptors out-manoeuver their prey before in Jurassic Park (RIP, game warden Muldoon) but here, we see these cunning predators operate on a larger scale.

From Jurassic Park (1993) Oh yes, the T-Rex’s first on-screen kill: the “bloodsucking lawyer” Donald Gennaro (Martin Ferrero) hiding in the public loo. Gennaro’s iconic death (Rexy chomps on him, head first; it’s never clear if he’s food or a chew toy) sets the tricky tone for the rest of the movie (and franchise): PG13-friendly carnage that’s frightening and funny at the same time.
