Where To Go For Drinks In Singapore During Phase 2
These bars will be open in Singapore during Phase 2.
Bars and clubs are among the handful of businesses that will not be resuming operations when Phase 2 kicks in on June 19. However, if you’re craving a tipple or two outside, there are still options at certain F&B outlets that will be welcoming customers again. While you won’t be able to pop into your favourite speakeasy for drinks yet, these F&B outlets with restaurant licenses will be able to welcome you with drinks and food in Phase 2 post-circuit breaker.
Of course, dining in at restaurants will feel a little different from what we’re used to, pre-Covid-19. Under Phase 2 regulations, no more than five people per group are allowed to dine in together, tables will spaced 1m apart, and no alcohol will be served after 10.30pm. These are just some of the measures that restaurants have to put in place for safe distancing purposes. So while the F&B industry does its part to adhere to guidelines, don’t forget to do your part as a diner (or as a socially responsible person, basically). If you’re heading out for a meal or to grab after-WFH drinks, remember to wear your mask, sanitise/wash your hands, and keep 1m away from other groups of diners.

It’s been a while since you last saw an Instagrammable background that isn’t the white wall of your living room. But that's not the only reason that people will be glad to be back at Loof, replete with its neon signs and breezy atmosphere. The rooftop resto-bar opens again June 19, which means you can once again indulge in hearty fusion bar grub like chili crab waffle fries, BCM grilled cheese or an Impossible Ramly burger (for those who’ve, er, over-indulged during the circuit breaker).
Loof, like other eateries under The Lo and Behold Group (which includes The Warehouse Lobby Bar and Tanjong Beach Club in this list), will have a slew of heightened safe management measures. Capacity at Loof will be reduced by 40 per cent in order to accommodate safe social distancing. Other measures in place include enhancing hygiene and cleanliness (new air and surface sterilisation technologies, hourly disinfection and cleaning, and more), contactless payments, and fresh, sanitised table set-ups for each group of guests.
331 North Bridge Road, #03-07, Odeon Towers, S188720. Open Mon-Sat, 5-10.30pm. More info at http://www.loof.com.sg/.

That Bali vacay ain’t happening anytime soon, but at least now we can chill with a cocktail at the beach — in Sentosa. Tanjong Beach Club reopens on June 20 for folks to finally get their dose of Vitamin D, brunch by the beach or just some downtime in the sun… responsibly and according to safety guidelines, of course.
120 Tanjong Beach Walk, Sentosa, S098942. Open Mon-Fri at 11am-7pm and Sat, Sun and PH at 9am-10pm. More info at https://www.tanjongbeachclub.com/.

Staycations are out of the question right now, but The Warehouse Hotel’s Lobby Bar, which reopens June 19, is an option if you’re in the mood for a drink and nibbles in these achingly cool industrial-chic surrounds. Like Loof, the capacity of the boutique hotel’s bar will be reduced by almost 40 per cent, so you can be rest assured that you’re keeping a good distance from other diners. All the better for those heart-to-heart catch-ups.
320 Havelock Road, S169628. Open daily from 11am-10.30pm. More info at https://www.thewarehousehotel.com/.

Barbary Coast is back, but only a part of this dual-concept bar in Boat Quay will make return on June 19. Deadfall, the laidback dive bar on the ground floor, reopens for dine-ins on June 19 (Barbary Coast Ballroom upstairs remains closed for now). If comfort food like a hearty cubano sandwich or a heap of nacho chips and a pint of beer is just the type of dinner you need, you’d best make a date with your four (or fewer) friends here.
Barbary Coast is at 16 North Canal Rd, S048828. Open from 4pm to late, Mon to Sat (closed Sun). More info at https://barbarycoastsg.com/.

If you prefer somewhere more low-key and laidback to ease back into the swing of things, you’ll be pleased to know that Druggists reopens June 19. This craft beer specialist is nestled in Jalan Besar, in a shophouse that used to be the Chinese Druggists Association (it retains the original signboard and old-school tiles inside). It boasts over 20 varieties on tap, and an extensive array of beer-friendly fusion and local dishes like har cheong gai, Hainanese pork chop and chilli crab fries. Reservations recommended.
119 Tyrwhitt Rd, S207547. Open daily 4pm-10.30pm. More info at https://www.facebook.com/pg/DruggistsSG.

The world’s highest dining spot will be offering complimentary entry until further notice, if you'd like to catch the first sunset of Phase 2 as you enjoy dinner and some vino (the club will remain shut). But if you’re planning to head there, you’ll have to check-in via SafeEntry and take your temperature upon arrival. Individual tables and seating spaces will be set further apart, and sanitizing hand wash has been placed in all toilets, washing areas and traffic touch points. Oh, and all guests will also have to keep their masks on unless drinking or eating.

For natural wines, regulars know the place to go to is Wine RVLT. From June 19, you'll be able to unwind over a glass of vino and some bites at the eatery again. Standard safe distancing measures will be in place, but it will be able to accommodate up to 40 to 50 guests (a maximum of 10 tables of five), so you'll want to book a spot before you head down.

If you want to enjoy a cold beer at this craft beer resto-bar with your friends, be sure to make reservations first. With a variety of craft beers, including the oddly-named fake mosaic juice from Hongkong's Young Master Brewery, we're sure beer lovers would flock over once The Guild reopens June 19. But if you prefer to enjoy it at home, you can always tapao your favourite brews (you can even purchase an entire case to stock up).
