Starting tomorrow (Feb 14), Toggle viewers can access pay cable giant HBO’s extensive library — from its award-winning original productions (Game of Thrones, Westworld) to licensed blockbusters (Ready Player One, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) — with its streaming service HBO Go, for as low as $10 per month. You can also watch content from Cinemax, HBO’s sister channel.

Right now, HBO Go is only accessible to StarHub subscribers through StarHub Go, the telco’s video app for mobile and smart TV sets. Singtel’s streaming service CAST will offer HBO Go to its customers from March 15. HBO Go costs $13.98 per month at both telcos.

If you haven’t gotten HBO Go, the Toggle deal is worth considering. For starters, it’s cheaper — in the long run. As with Singtel and StarHub, there’s a no lock-in contract option at $13.98 per month. Alternatively, you can go for a 12-month contract at $119.98.

That sounds like a lot but if you do the math, you’re only paying $10 a month (total savings: $48!). There’s another plus. Because the HBO Go app isn’t on smart TVs, you can only watch HBO content on TV by using streaming devices like Apple TV and Chromecast.

But you skip that hassle on Toggle because HBO Go is part of the Toggle service, ie it has its own section. Since Toggle app is available on select smart TVs (LG and Samsung sets made in and after 2015) and Apple TV, you can simply watch HBO directly from Toggle.

In other words: you can switch shows easily. Exhausted after binging on five seasons of Silicon Valley? Take a break by catching up with the latest Ch 8 drama starring Fann Wong with a touch on your remote control.

HBO Go users can watch content on two concurrent screens across a maximum of five registered devices. Under OTT (Over-The-Top) Content Services rules, uncut R21 content is allowed to be shown online.

But such content must be kept behind parental locks. So you don’t have to worry about the young ones exposed to Lena Dunham playing ping-pong naked on Girls or the twisted shenanigans of the Lannisters on Game of Thrones.

The Toggle app is available on iOS and Android devices. Download the app for free at AppStore and Google Play. To subscribe to HBO on Toggle, click here.
