Singaporean Singer Jocie Guo Reportedly In Sisters Who Make Waves 3 With Coco Lee, Charlene Choi & Gillian Chung

It would be awesome to see the 'Mice Love Rice' singer do Singapore proud.

Earlier this month, it was rumoured that the third season of hugely popular reality competition Sisters Who Make Waves will feature some of the biggest names in Chinese showbiz, including Li Bingbing, Coco Lee, Myolie Wu, newly-minted Golden Horse Awards Best Actress winner Alyssa Chia as well as Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, who, for those old enough to remember, were part of Cantopop group Twins.

This week, multiple versions of a 'Final List' of contestants have been making the rounds on Weibo, and the most shared list looks very different from what was initially reported.

For one, Li Bingbing, Myolie and Alyssa are noticeably missing.

On the other hand, Carina Lau, who was earlier rumoured to have dropped out of talks to star in the series, along with '90s Hongkong screen beauties Irene Wan and Carman Lee, are in the line-up.Carina Lau, Irene Wan & Carman Lee

The full cast reportedly consists of 17 singers and 13 actresses.

The singers are: Coco Lee, Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Fiona Sit, Shi Shi, Cyndi Wang, Tia Ray, He Jie, Pan Chen, Chen Bing, Landy Wen, Juno Su, Cao Lu, Agatha Kong, Jocie Guo Mei Mei, Momo Wu and Chen Li,

The actresses are: Carina Lau, Irene Wan, Carman Lee, Zhang Xiaofei, Choenyi Tsering, Sun Li, Zhang Li, Madina Memet, Liu Yan, Raquel Xu, Li Yixiao, Crystal Yuan and Shu Chang.

And among these women, one singer stands out in particular. Well, at least for Singaporeans.

Jocie Guo Mei Mei, who is Singaporean, shot to fame in the noughties for her viral songs 'No More Panic' (or 'Bu Pa Bu Pa') and 'Mice Love Rice' (or 'Lao Shu Ai Da Mi').

The singer, who is based in China and Taiwan, disappeared from the spotlight in 2011 after she was mistaken for a Chinese blogger with the same Chinese name.

The blogger was one of China's most hated internet personalities because of the way she flaunted her wealth. Many netizens had confused Jocie with the Chinese Mei Mei and would go on to abuse her online. Jocie also saw many of her gigs in China cancelled as many did not want to be associated with her.

It was only after the blogger was arrested for illegal gambling did people realise that they were two different women.
