Stars Like Mark Lee, Myolie Wu & Edison Chen Clamour For Stephen Chow’s Handwritten Chinese New Year Couplets

Everyone wants a piece of the comedy legend.

While most people give out ang pows as a form of blessing during Chinese New Year, Stephen Chow does things a little differently.

Earlier this week, the comedy legend posted a video of himself writing Chinese New Year couplets.

In the caption, he wrote: “Xin xiang shi cheng couplet to make your wishes come true. New year, reach new heights. Will give away to destined people.”

“Leave a comment to prove you are fated [to receive the couplets] (20 will be selected),” he added.

Unsurprisingly, netizens flooded the comments section, clamouring for the couplets.

In two days, the post garnered over 28K comments and counting.

Even stars like Charlene Choi, Myolie Wu, Edison Chen, and Alyssa Chia left messages in hopes of being picked.

“Happy New Year! I wonder if I'm fated [to receive the couplets],” wrote Charlene, while Edison left a bunch of raised hand emojis.

Even the stars were scrambling for it

Singapore stars like Mark Lee, Jaspers Lai, Sora Ma and Zhang Yaodong also took a stab at the giveaway.

Mark wrote: "If we are fated, even if we are separated by thousands of miles, we will still come together,” while Jaspers quipped: “Give me, give me! I will burn and drink it.”
