Japanese weekly magazine Friday, known for publishing paparazzi-style photos and saucy articles about celebs recently alleged that Japanese actor Takuya Kimura, 50, is divorcing his wife, Japanese singer Shizuka Kudo, 52, ‘cos Shizuka’s “too old and worn out”. 

The magazine went on to assert that the divorce has been finalised, but the couple are choosing not to announce it now so that they will not overshadow Takuya’s new drama, Kazama Kimichika: Kyojo Zero, which premieres in April.

Takuya and Shizuka rarely post pictures of themselves together.

Takuya and Shizuka tied the knot in 2000, at the height of their respective careers. They have two daughters together, Kokomi , 22, and Mitsuki, 20, the latter who goes by the stage name Kõki.

They've been spotted out walking their dogs together too.

Though they have always remained low-key with their private life, the couple was spotted by the press going to the gym together just a week earlier.

A few days after the report alleging the split was published, Shizuka was asked by reporters for a comment as she was leaving her house, and this was her reply.

“You can write freely, as you wish. I think this is not something that warrants you guys coming over to ask me about, and I will not answer either,” she said.
