Trailer Watch: Brad Pitt Gets Roughed Up In Star-Studded Thriller Bullet Train

The Japan-set actioner is directed by David Leitch, the guy behind 'Deadpool 2' and 'Atomic Blonde'.

All aboard!

Sony Pictures has dropped the first trailer for Bullet Train, the high-octane Japan-set action-thriller starring Brad Pitt as a hitman engaged in all sorts of shenanigans while on board a shinkansen.

If you like that train brawl sequence in The Matrix Resurrections, then you’re going to love Bullet Train — the train brawl is the movie.

Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2Atomic Blonde), Bullet Train follows five assassins on a high-speed train who realise their assigned targets are related. (Something to do with a briefcase, according to preview footage.) Expect lots of stylised kicks and punches and over-the-top gun-fu.

Pitt is said to have done 95 per cent of the stunts in the movie, which is based on the book Maria Beetle by Kōtarō Isaka and was entirely shot in Los Angeles. (Fun fact: Leitch and Pitt go back a long way — Leitch was Pitt’s stunt double in Fight ClubOcean’s ElevenTroy, and Mr & Mrs Smith.)

Bullet Train also stars Joey King, Andrew Koji, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Hiroyuki Sanada and Sandra Bullock. The latter stepped in after Lady Gaga reportedly dropped out due to a scheduling conflict with House of Gucci.

Bullet Train opens in Singapore cinemas on Aug 11. Watch the trailer here:
