Rumour has it that TVB actress Ali Lee, 38, is being wooed by billionaire businessman Mark Chan, who is also known as the ‘King of Cordyceps’.
Ali, who was recently named the 'Most Beautiful TVB Star In Person', broke up with TV presenter Danny Chan last year, while Mark’s wife passed away in 2019.
Hongkong media recently published photos of Ali and Mark at the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, sparking rumours that the pair are now a couple.
However, both parties have maintained that they had only met up to discuss work and that they are not dating.
When Mark was asked if they were on a date, he said, “That’s what I want too. Could you arrange for that to happen?”
Seemingly aware that his words could be perceived as him confessing his feelings for Ali, he then added that he was “just joking”.
He also said that Ali was introduced to him by a mutual friend about two years ago, and that she is a “very good person”.
On the other hand, Ali simply said that she and Mark had met up to discuss a contract about a movie that focuses on brain degeneration”. You know, basically leaving no room for her words to be misinterpreted.
When reporters asked if there was any chance of her and Mark becoming more than business partners, Ali immediately said, “It won't happen, thank you”.
The actress previously said that she “doesn’t choose her friends based on their financial status” when netizens accused her of being a gold-digger after she was linked to Mark.
She also told the media that she is “not ready to date for the time being”.
