TVB actress Alice Chan’s career has been on the rise lately, and it seems like she has her new home to thank for that.

According to reports, jobs have been pouring in for the 47-year-old ever since she bought an apartment in Tai Po district in Hongkong’s New Territories earlier this month.

In just a couple of weeks, she has received endorsement deals for health and wellness products, and some brands have also expressed their interest to renew contracts.

The “prosperous home” with its good fengshui is estimated to have earned Alice “a few million Hongkong dollars”, which is equivalent to a few hundred thousand Singapore dollars.

Alice has been looking to buy her own place for a while. After returning to Hongkong in 2012 following her divorce from Taiwanese businessman James Yen, she has been renting apartments in the city. However, due to the ever increasing rent, Alice decided to buy her own place this year.

She has been house-hunting for the past six months and finally found her dream home, which she bought for “more than HK$10 million” (around S$1.74mil), in a quiet and private neighbourhood in Tai Po.

“I have been renting for many years and the rent just keeps going up, so I decided to buy my own place. It can be used as an investment or for capital preservation. I no longer have to pay expensive rent. The environment of the new place is so comfortable, I am very pleased that I chose the right place,” she said.

Alice seems to have a good eye for real estate. Not only is the area where the apartment is located identified as a development plot, it is also said to have good feng shui.

Stars like Donnie Yen and 'King of Property' Simon Yam also bought homes in the area as they believe it would to boost their careers.

2 of 2 Alice and her boyfriend Aldous Chan

Though things are going well for Alice on the career and personal front, she is not looking to settle down with her doctor boyfriend of two years, Aldous Chan, anytime soon.

“We are already living together and our relationship is very stable. I am not in a hurry to get married. This kind of relationship is very comfortable,” she said.

Earlier this year, the couple were rumoured to have secretly tied the knot, but Alice denied it.
