Video Of Ming Dao Swearing At Disruptive 5-Year-Old Child Star Surfaces Online

The video was posted by the kid's mum who seemed displeased at the actor's behaviour.

A video of Taiwanese actor Ming Dao, 41, losing his temper at a five-year-old child star who was being very disruptive at a shoot has surfaced online.

The clip, which was posted by the kid’s mum on Feb 20, has since been deleted, but not before eliciting mixed reactions amongst netizens.

In the clip, the girl can be seen fussing about in the arms of Chinese actress Huang Yi, 42. The kid also could not say her lines on cue, resulting in an NG take.

While Huang Yi appeared to be dealing with the child’s antics well, Ming Dao was not too pleased.

Eventually, he muttered: “[Expletive], don’t waste my time,” before getting up to walk off, and uttering one final sentence: “I’ll wait for you to finish playing before filming again”.

While some netizens were not pleased at how Ming Dao lost his temper and swore at the child, others felt that the actor’s reaction was perfectly justified.

“The child star should’ve made sure she was ready, and Ming Dao wasn’t truly angry anyway”, one said, while another wrote: “They’re just a kid who wasted a bit of time. By losing your temper, aren’t you wasting even more time? And by swearing at a kid, shows you’re really low-class”.

Others also brought in the fact that Ming Dao is a father of a one-year-old boy, and if his display of anger shows that he also loses his temper at his kid.

After the video was posted online, another clip of Ming Dao using the same expletive while going through a scene with Huang Yi was posted online.

In the video, a male voice, believed to be Ming Dao, can be heard uttering: “[Expletive], I just got into character.”

A day after the video was posted online, Ming Dao released a statement through his manager, explaining his actions.

“First off, I have to say that I don’t really remember the details [of what happened that day]. I only remember that there were only a few days left before filming wrapped, so it was a race against time with everyone on the brink of exhaustion. The child’s level of cooperation was really not ideal too. However, regardless of whether there was someone on set to help communicate with the child, I should not have used such emotional words,” read the statement.

He also went on to say: “I am a new dad too, and I'm learning how to communicate with kids. If anyone has a good method, I hope they will teach me too, thank you everyone.”

Ming Dao’s manager also shared in a separate statement that the actor was just joking around with Huang Yi in the behind-the-scenes video, and that there was no discord between them.

On Feb 21, the child star’s mum wrote a post on Weibo apologising for sharing the first video. In her statement, she shared that her daughter has always been excitable, and that Ming Dao was always very professional and kind on set.

The child star’s mum also apologised for inadvertently causing harm to Ming Dao's career by posting the video.
