The villain from TVB's 'The Invisibles' is actually a 3rd-gen celeb

Meet Nicholas Yuen, whose grandma is Hong Kong's first TV actress Lily Leung.

For those who’ve been following new TVB drama The Invisibles, you’ll probably remember the character Fok Chin Hang, or Hang Siu, a wealthy heir who tortures the characters played by TVB actresses Moon Lau and Tiffany Lau while under the influence of drugs.

Netizens have praised the actor behind Chin Hang, Hong Kong actor Nicholas Yuen, 32, for bringing the character to life.

While Nicholas may be a newcomer in showbiz, the actor is actually a “third-gen celeb” who made his TV debut about nine years ago.

His acting sent chills down our spines.

Nicolas is the grandson of Hong Kong's first TV actress, Lily Leung (Liang Shunyan), who starred in over 80 productions throughout her years as an actress, including Heart Of Greed and A Fist Within Four Walls.

She was presented with a Lifetime Acting Achievement Award at the TVB Anniversary Awards in 2004. Lily died of cancer in 2019 at the age of 90.

Meanwhile, Nicholas’ dad, Yuen Huiyuan, is a director and producer with ATV, while Nicholas’ uncle, Yuen Huixiong, also worked as an actor briefly in the '80s.

This is what Nicholas looks like when he's not Chin Hang.

Nicholas graduated with a degree in Economics from the Hong Kong University Of Science And Technology in 2013, and was originally planning to pursue a career in finance.

However, he was bitten by the acting bug after taking a module on acting and music in university. He then enrolled in TVB’s artiste training class in 2014, before going on to join the broadcaster as an artiste.

He mainly hosted children’s shows like Kids, Think Big during his time with TVB, with cameos and guest appearances in a number of dramas.

In 2017, he left the broadcaster to further his career in Beijing, before returning to Hong Kong in 2020. He is now jointly managed by TVB and Shaw Brothers.
