Wang Lei Ups Cash Reward From $48K to $130K For Safe Return Of M'sian Woman Who Has Been Missing For Almost 2 Weeks
There are some netizens who fear that if Chia Min Yong has indeed been kidnapped, those responsible for it might continue to hold out for more money.
Getai star and online fish seller Wang Lei, 60, has increased his cash reward from $48K to S$130K to anyone who finds Chia Min Yong, a 22-year-old insurance agent from Malaysia who has been missing since April 5.
In an earlier livestream video on April 9, Wang Lei announced to his viewers that he would be offering S$48k, with a S$32k contribution from Min Yong’s father’s boss, for the safe return of the missing young woman.
“Hi everyone, Chia Mei Mei has been missing for more than a week now and her heartbroken parents have been crying every day. I hope to find her soon, so I have decided to increase the cash reward from RM$150K (S$48K) to RM$400K (S$130K). Hopefully she can be reunited with her family soon!” Wang Lei wrote on Facebook on April 17.

Wang Lei has been praised by netizens, with many thanking him for his generous gesture.
However, there were also those who pointed out that if the woman has indeed been kidnapped, the “bad people would think that they can earn more money” and not let her go.
