This Week’s Best-Dressed Local Stars: Oct 1-8

From red carpet events to parties, our local stars brought their fashion A-game this week. Celebs like Pierre Png and Hong Huifang glammed it up for the Busan International Film Festival, while Fiona Xie and Sonia Chew turned heads with their party looks. Read on for more.

Christopher Lee

Christopher, who’s recently named the Singapore winner for Best Factual Presenter in the 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards, looked stylo in a nude jacket and white jeans combo. The pop of colour on his sneakers livened up his outfit.

Hong Huifang

Huifang, styled by her daughter Tay Ying, was a picture of elegance in a black mermaid gown when she attended the premiere of her movie Ajoomma at the Busan International Film Festival. Our favourite piece has to be the embroidered cape jacket that looks sharp and stylish.

Lawrence Wong

The recent sweater weather may have inspired some of us to layer up but Lawrence, who's been rocking a sexy new buzzcut, took it to the next level, sporting a heavyweight turtleneck knitted top by Hermès.  

Fiona Xie

From the dramatic puffy sleeves to that high shine finish, Fiona’s Dolce & Gabbana ’80s-inspired mini is anything but subtle.

Joanne Peh 

Joanne, who was spotted trying her hand at bag stitching at the Hermès In The Making exhibition, sure looked the part in her white tank and leather trimmed dungarees.

Desmond Tan and Carrie Wong

All dressed up for a Cartier photoshoot, Desmond and Carrie dripped style and attitude in a tonal suit and contrasting figure-hugging number respectively. Understated glamour is the way to go.

Hong Ling and Nick Teo

Couple dressing, when done right, can look chic. Hong Ling and Nick nailed it by matching different shades of blue and going for failsafe separates. They even have matching smiles. Cute.

Pierre Png

Also in Busan is Pierre, who looked like an oppa in a black turtleneck and grey suit at an Asia Contents Awards event. He is nominated for Best Actor for his role in Mediacorp English historic drama This Land Is Mine.

Sora Ma

Sora, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for This Land Is Mine, dazzled in a sparkly blue plunging number. 

Zoe Tay

We love a good inspirational quote and Zoe’s “Find Your Way” tee is a positive reminder we didn’t know we needed. She contrasted her black and white outfit with a red Cartier crossbody.

Fann Wong

Fann, who was spotted at The LKY Musical with hubby Christopher Lee, was chio as always in a Tory Burch asymmetrical purple shirt and tiered skirt. She juxtaposed her business-meets-party look with a green geometric print Louis Vuitton handbag.

Shaun Chen

From the striped shacket to the relaxed trousers, everything on Shaun screams fun and casual. 

Jean Danker

Part dainty, part party, Jean looked gorgeous in this off-shoulder peplum dress. We wish she’d swapped the crossbody bag for something more cocktail hour-friendly.

Sonia Chew

Sonia, who was spotted at an F1 party, hit all the fashion high notes in this edgy Fendi ensemble. We can't imagine how warm she must be in those gloves.

Sheila Sim

Hot pink seems to be the colour of the moment, and Sheila, who’s expecting baby number two, looked ravishing in it.

Shawn Thia

Streamers Go Live star Shawn cleaned up well in a stylish and sharp baby blue suit this week. He paired it with a Dior geometric print saddle bag for a fashion forward look.

Chen Xiuhuan

Could mint be Xiuhuan's favourite colour? The actress was spotted in not one but two green looks this week. We like how she contrasted the shorts suit with a pink purse.

Zhang Yaodong

Yaodong, who’s holidaying in Paris, stood out from the crowd with his logo mania pullover from Korean lifestyle brand MLB.
