Xixi Lim’s Top-Tier Response To A Netizen Who Repeatedly Fat-Shamed Her Is Everything

Keyboard warriors, take note.

There’s something about hiding behind perceived anonymity on the internet that somehow lets some people think that it’s perfectly fine to spew hate and vitriol online. Spoiler alert: it’s definitely not okay.

And Ah Girls Go Army (AGGA) actress Priscillia Lim, better known as Xixi Lim, let one netizen know just that.

The 33-year-old actress took to Instagram stories on June 28 to call out a netizen who has been consistently replying to Xixi’s IG updates with unwarranted insults and hate.

The nerve of some people.

The replies from said netizen appear to have been going on for at least a week, and all seemed to revolve around Xixi's size. In one reply, the netizen wrote: “Mini and Xixi is not something I will put together”. In another one, the netizen told Xixi to “do yourself a favour and start a weight loss programme”.

A large number of replies mentioned fellow AGGA actor Glenn Yong, 25, as well. The duo have been appearing in a number of videos together of late. Glenn is no stranger to online trolls, having previously mentioned in an interview with 8Days.sg that he’s been dealing with an anonymous hater who’s been sending him hateful comments and harassing those who work with him.

Said netizen seems to have an axe to grind with Glenn too.

Xixi responded in a string of IG stories, and shared in her first story that she’s finally addressing these hateful comments, since it’s obvious that the netizen wants attention.

The actress, who previously shared in an interview with 8Days.sg that it “took a very long time” for her to get to a stage where nasty comments don’t affect her, wrote that while it’s obvious that the netizen is taking potshots at her size, she does not take offence to that.

Xixi's calm and composed response is a stark contrast to the online hate she received.

"I’ve mention[ed] since day 1 that I can’t stop anyone from targeting on my size since being fat/plus size is a FACT and I can't hide or change that in a short period of time, you are definitely free to have your own opinions on things I post,” she wrote.

"As a plus size girl, I've never encouraged anyone to be big/fat or said that IT'S OKAY to be overweight/obese. In fact, I know it’s definitely not healthy and can lead to many health risks in the future,” she went on to write, describing it as being like a “ticking time bomb”.

"All I’m saying is while you are working or moving towards your desired goal, you should learn to embrace and love yourself,” she continued.

Don't blindly assume, okay?

Xixi also shared that she’s been exercising and trying to lose weight, and emphasised that she’s doing it for herself, rather than for a significant other or to fit in with her peers

"Everyone is unique and everyone deserves to be loved no matter how you look. Love has no boundaries and everyone is unique in their own way,” she wrote.
