Xu Bin’s Son, 3, Hospitalised For Rare Complication After Contracting COVID-19; Actor & Daughter, 1, Tested Positive Too
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, MIS-C, which was what Xu Bin's son was diagnosed with, has a 14 in 10,000 chance of occurring among all children with COVID-19 infection.
Turns out, the actor could not make it to the event as he's currently down with COVID-19. In an interview with 8world, Xu Bin revealed that it had been six days since he first tested positive.
Additionally, the actor’s mum, as well as his three-year-old son, Ethan, and his one-year-old daughter, Elyse, all tested positive as well.
While Xu Bin’s wife, Evelyn, 32, managed to “escape" from the virus, she is currently caring for Ethan, who had to be hospitalised. Ethan first tested positive in end February, and the virus soon spread to the rest of the family.

As a result, Ethan is currently warded in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, with Evelyn caring for him. Meanwhile, Xu Bin and Elyse are quarantined together in a separate ward at the hospital, while Xu Bin’s mum recovers at home.
When asked for his thoughts on his Top 10 nomination, Xu Bin answered: “I'm currently busy caring for my daughter, after I received word that I was nominated, I really didn’t know how to describe my feelings, it’s kind of like a bitter-sweet feeling!”
Other than his Top 10 nom, Xu Bin is also up for Best Actor, as well as the Favourite CP and The Male Show Stealer awards, which are part of the newly launched MY PICK! Awards, which will be given out during Backstage Live segment of the event.

Apart from Xu Bin and his family, celeb couple Ang Junyang and Candyce Toh also shared that their household had three members test positive over the last two weeks.
The couple recently announced that they are expecting their second child, with Candyce believed to be in her second trimester now.
Candyce revealed in an Instagram post that as she’s currently pregnant, she has not taken her booster shot, and is considered in the “high-risk group”.
The first case in their household was the family’s helper, who had showed flu-like symptoms. Once their helper tested positive, Candyce said that she knew there was a “high chance” her five-year-old daughter, Azalea, would be positive as their helper had been caring for her for the past few days.

The couple immediately picked Azalea up from school for a COVID-19 test, where she tested positive too.
“I went up to [Junyang] and broke down in front of him,” Candyce shared, adding that she blamed her breakdown on her “pregnancy hormones”.
As Candyce is “high-risk”, the couple then made the decision to “evacuate" Candyce to her sister’s house, while Junyang stayed home to take care of their helper and Azalea.

Junyang went on to share more in a separate IG post, revealing that it was “not easy” taking care of the two of them.
"Azalea is only five years old [and] having to see her go through this just pains me. Thankfully she is fully vaccinated and her symptoms started turning mild towards day 4,” he wrote.
Unfortunately, he contracted COVID-19 two days later.
"The whole house now became a covid ward (sic),” he wrote.
The singer said he suffered from more severe symptoms, which ranged from the “worst sore throat”, to losing his voice, as well as an "itchy, scratchy, wheezing cough” that still persists today.
Thankfully, he tested negative after four days, and with all members fully recovered, Candyce was able to return home last week and reunite with everyone.
"The past two weeks was definitely one of the worst two weeks I ever had. If [you are] going through covid isolation at this point, wishing [you] a speedy recovery. Stay safe and healthy everyone,” Junyang wrote.
