You Can Now Fly Direct From Seletar Airport To Redang Island; All-In Resort & Flight Packages Available

Be prepared to splurge.

A getaway to Redang Island in Malaysia may be a relaxing escapade, though the journey there from Singapore used to be anything but.

To get to the lovely beaches on Redang Island, you’d normally have to fly or drive to Kuala Terengganu or Merang, then take a ferry to the island. The journey could take anywhere from four hours up to a whopping 10 hours — just flying to Kuala Terengganu via KL (there are no direct flights from Singapore) will take you almost four hours.

The good news is that there’s now a direct flight from Singapore at Seletar Airport to Redang, with the journey taking less than one hour and 20 minutes. However, these are chartered flights and cost slightly more than regular coach and ferry tickets, but they significantly cut travel time.

Run by Berjaya Air, the flights are chartered by The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort in Redang — in other words, guests will have to book the flight with a stay at the five-star hotel with its own private beach, one of the most luxurious stays on the island.

The Taaras Beach and Spa Resort

The Taaras is currently running an Enchanting Redang Escapade 4D/3N flight and stay package, with prices starting at S$2,096 nett per person.

Besides three nights’ accommodation with daily breakfast for two and return flights, guests also enjoy daily set or buffet lunch and dinners, one-time kayaking, one-time snorkelling experience, return shuttle between the airport and resort, a welcome evening cocktail and canapes, and will receive resort memorabilia.

Fly direct from Seletar Airport to Redang Airport via Berjaya Air’s turboprop plane, which operates twice weekly, and you’ll get access to Seletar Airport’s Seletar Business Aviation Centre (think of it as a lounge for private jet customers), express boarding, 15kg check-in luggage per person and refreshments on board.
