The Chinese couple in the video are among the arrested.
State-run broadcaster Beijing Television said that the police are investigating on two aspects: The question of who published the “tasteless video”, as well as on whether it was a publicity stunt by Uniqlo.
If found guilty, Uniqlo could face a fine of between 200,000 and one million yuan (S$44,000-S$221,000) and have its licence revoked, according to China Daily,
The one-minute video clip of the Chinese couple apparently having sex in a changing room of a Uniqlo store in Beijing first went viral on July 14.
