SINGAPORE — After 11 years of marriage, former Miss Singapore-Universe-turned-actress Jaime Teo, 39, and former radio DJ Daniel Ong, 41, have called it quits.

The divorce had been finalised since August, but they only chose to go public with the news on the last day of 2016 by making announcements on their respective Instagram accounts.

“We thought we should make this official going into the new year,” said the couple who posted near identical statements. 

“After 11 years, and much thought and contemplation, it's with great sadness that @daniel_ong_singapore and I have decided to go our separate ways," said Teo.

The couple has a six-year-old daughter, Renee, and they both said they will “remain committed and loving co-parents” to her, adding that their focus now is on giving Renee “as normal a childhood as possible”.

Teo and Ong own cupcake chain Twelve Cupcakes, which had expanded to more than 40 outlets across six countries.
