180 Short Film Competition winners announced
SINGAPORE – The winners of the 180 Short Film Competition have been announced.
The 180 Short Film Competition is organised by the Singapore Media Academy (SMA) and supported by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).

Film-maker Ray Pang won a cash prize of S$10,000 under the Professional category for his short film, My Grandfather, while Lim Heng Le won S$3,000 under the Open category for her entry, Dinner. Their short films were among 22 shortlisted for screening at the awards ceremony, which was held at Golden Village Singapore, Great World City on Wednesday (Nov 13) evening.
Organised by the Singapore Media Academy (SMA) and supported by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), as well as other industry sponsors, participants of the competition had to submit a short film not exceeding 180 seconds, with the theme “Appreciating our Frontliners in Cleaning, Security, Landscape and Floristry or Social Service”. Registrants were also required to attend a briefing session conducted by SMA and WDA to learn about the dynamics of these industries, as well as the initiatives put in place to improve the productivity of frontline workers in these sectors.
Organisers received submissions from a wide variety of participants, including aspiring film-makers, full-time media professionals, retired educators, hobbyists and students, as well as corporations, companies and schools.
