SINGAPORE — It would seem like Fei Xiang is quite the Singaporean at heart. The 54-year-old pop icon, who is currently in town to promote his new album, Human, professed his love for Singapore food.
In fact, the veteran singer shared he had spicy black pepper crab with his team for dinner last night, which he described as “just absolutely gorgeous”. With a sheepish grin, Fei Xiang (born Kris Philips) also confessed to being a huge fan of our undisputed king of fruits, the durian.
Despite a packed work schedule in China to keep him busy for the rest of year, the charming blue-eyed performer said he would love to come back to Singapore with a special concert in the next year or two, to specially thank his loyal fans for their support over the last three decades.
Recently bringing his 83-year-old mother out in her wheelchair for some quiet family time at Gardens By The Bay, he had more praises about cosmopolitan Singapore. However, while he felt that he could very easily fit in, the 1.9m-tall Taiwanese-American laughed good-naturedly and joked that Singapore’s real estate was just too expensive for him to live here.
