SINGAPORE — Singaporean Chinese indie music band Ah5ive will be sharing the stage with Taiwanese acts, Guntzepaula and TRASH at the inaugural ROAR MUSIC event at Hood Bar and Cafe next month.

ROAR MUSIC, organised by Shiinstudio, ICON Touring and Hood Bar and Cafe, aims to enhance Singapore’s “live” music scene by inviting Mandopop bands from other countries to collaborate with local bands. The event will also see Ah5ive, which was nominated for Best Theme Song at MediaCorp’s Star Awards this year, launch its second album, Dream Catcher, which the band said will be released in the form of a USB wristband. Taiwan’s Golden Indie Award winner Guntzepaula, as well as Golden Melody Award nominee TRASH, will also perform some of their greatest hits.

Roar Music: Singapore x Taiwan Music Bands’ Collaboration will be held on Aug 26, 8pm, at Hood Bar and Cafe. Tickets at S$35 from http://roarmusic.peatix.com; or S$40 at the door on the actual day. Ticket holders get a complimentary glass of Carlsberg beer (half-pint) or a non-alcoholic drink/fruit juice.
