1. HELLO VASANTHAM — DEEPAVALI SPECIAL. Jaynesh hosts Hello Vasantham, your ticket to kicking off the celebrations. This one-hour show features the latest songs, song dedications and the chance to win prizes. Oct 21, 9pm.
2. AMARKALA DEEPAVALI 2014. Don’t miss the annual Deepavali countdown concert with over 200 participating artistes treating you to two and a half hours of singing, dancing and pyrotechnics. This year, the concert is themed “Reunion” and is specially dedicated to those returning from work or studies overseas to reunite with their loved ones at Deepavali. Hosted by Saravanan Ayyavoo and Hayma Malini. Oct 21, 10pm (Encore telecast Oct 23, 9am)
3. VAANGA PAZHAGALAAM. In this special Deepavali telemovie starring Dhivyah Raveen and Devadharshini, a rich boy falls in love with a girl from an average family. Things go wrong when the girl’s family pretend to be more affluent than they are. Oct 22, 6.30pm.
4. KOCHADAIYAAN (THE LEGEND). It’s the TV premiere of India’s first photorealistic performance capture film, a historical action movie starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone about how the mighty warrior Rana fights to restore his father Kochadaiyaan’s lost glory. Oct 22, 12pm.
5. QUEEN. In this comedy starring Kangana Ranaut, a naïve middle class girl from Delhi goes on a honeymoon without her fiancé, who leaves her just before the wedding. Oct 22, 3pm.
6. ANJAAN (FEARLESS). Surya stars in this action thriller about gangs and revenge. Oct 22, 9pm.
7. PLANET GALATTA. This variety show hosted by Vishnu and Indra will be filled with hit songs, dance items and remixes by local DJs. There’s also a comedy segment with Elango and Sokki – and the famous Halwa prank segment. Oct 23, 6.30pm.
