SINGAPORE – Malaysia’s quick service restaurant chain, Marrybrown, has already made a mark with their fried chicken back home and overseas (it has more than 130 restaurants in Malaysia and more than 350 international restaurants), but it has now planted roots in Singapore.

Yesterday (Oct 1), Marrybrown officially launched its Singapore outlet at iFly in Sentosa. The company also said it is looking to open 20 outlets here in five years’ time.

Besides Malaysian-style dishes such as Nasi Ayam MB (chicken breast served with rice cooked in garlic, crushed ginger and sesame oil, acar and crispy papadam) or Chick-O-Rice (chicken strips are marinated in special seasoning, hand-breaded and pressure cooked and served on a bed of rice), Marrybrown in Singapore will offer what its Malaysian outlets already serve: Fried chicken, burgers, seafood, finger food, salad, rice dishes and desserts.

Marrybrown’s chief executive officer Dato Joshua Liew said: “Many consumers love to enjoy delicious food, especially Malaysian food. We are proud to open in Singapore and we attribute this success to our unique food culture that tempts the taste buds of many consumers.”
