School canteen food prices set to rise, after MOE revises pricing guidelines in response to higher costs
The Ministry of Education has recently revised the school canteen pricing guidelines for primary, secondary schools and junior colleges.
The decision was made due to rising costs of food supplies.
Subsidies will be provided through MOE or school-based support.
This is to ensure meals are kept affordable for students, the ministry said.
Out of four stallholders interviewed, two said they were planning to ask the schools to increase their prices.
