SINGAPORE — Multiple cars skidded and crashed into a wall in Funan mall’s car park during heavy rain on Tuesday (May 14).

Facebook posts by Roads.sg and SG Kaypoh on Tuesday night showed a white car that had crashed into a wall at the bottom of a slope going into the car park.

Other photos also showed cars that were damaged on the passenger side.

According to the two Facebook posts, which have been shared by hundreds of people, the cars were unable to avoid hitting the wall due to slippery conditions.

Dashcam footage uploaded on Tuesday by Facebook page SG Road Vigilante showed a motorcyclist skidding and falling as he went down the slope.

A Funan spokesperson said on Wednesday that they were alerted to an incident involving several cars at the mall’s car park on Tuesday evening.

No one was injured, the spokesperson said in response to CNA's queries.

As a safety precaution, the affected areas and the car park entrance at North Bridge Road were immediately cordoned off. The entrance will remain closed "for the time being".

“We are investigating the cause of the incident and are providing the necessary assistance to the affected drivers,” the spokesperson added.

Shoppers are advised to access Funan mall’s car park via Hill Street.

"The safety and well-being of our shoppers are of utmost importance," the spokesperson said. “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused." CNA
