Commissioning of RSN's second and third Littoral Mission Vessel (LMV)

The Republic of Singapore Navy's second and third Littoral Mission Vessel (LMV), RSS Sovereignty and RSS Unity, were commissioned on Tuesday (Nov 14) at the Changi Naval Base. Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen officiated the ceremony and presented the commissioning warrants to the commanding officers of the two ships.

The RSS Sovereignty and RSS Unity are the second and third ships out of eight LMVs which will replace the Fearless-class Patrol Vessels which have been in service for more than 20 years. The RSS Independence was the first LMV to be commissioned in May this year and the remaining five LMVs are expected to be operational by 2020.
