A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Cinque Terre in Italy comprises five coastal villages linked by a path. This photo was taken in one of the villages, Vernazza. The coastline with its quaint villages, rolling hillsides and colourful boats evokes a sense of serenity and calm.

GREENER PASTURES

During a family trip to the Netherlands, we took a day tour from Amsterdam and visited Zaanse Schans — a small village with tidy green houses, quaint stores and well-preserved historic windmills.

FLOWERS IN FULL BLOOM

Last October, I visited Canberra, Australia, and chanced upon Canberra’s Spring flower festival, Floriade, at Commonwealth Park. There were extensive displays of flowering bulbs as well as many activities and performances. This snapshot of the landscape captures the essence of the festival, which was colourful and vibrant.

A BYGONE ERA

We passed by this film studio site in Shanghai, which is located by the South side of Beisong Road and to the West of Shanghai-Hangzhou railway. The location featured many old buildings and shops. My husband has a great eye for detail and this photo he took makes me feel like I’ve gone back in time.
