14-year-old charged with murdering 49-year-old father
SINGAPORE — A 14-year-old boy was charged on Friday (Dec 11) with murdering his 49-year-old father.

In a statement on Friday afternoon, the police said that at around 10.10am, they received a call for help at a residential unit along Flora Road in Loyang.
Upon their arrival, police officers found a man injured and motionless.
He was taken unconscious to Changi General Hospital, where he later died.
The 14-year-old boy was arrested at the scene.
Murder, punishable under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code, typically carries the death penalty in Singapore.
However, offenders below 18 must be sentenced to life imprisonment instead, based on the Criminal Procedure Code.
Police investigations are underway.
