SINGAPORE — Singapore reported two new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday (Nov 8), both of which were imported.

There were no cases in the community, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The two imported cases, both asymptomatic, had been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.

One is a work permit holder currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia.

The other is a dependant’s pass holder who arrived from the United Arab Emirates.

The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 58,056.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of one case in the past week who is currently unlinked, MOH said.

Seven more Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities, bringing the total who have fully recovered to 57,975.

There are currently 33 people who are still in hospital. Most of them are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

Another 20 with mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated and cared for at community facilities.

Twenty-eight people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
