2016 school year to start on Jan 4, end on Nov 18
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that the school year for 2016 for all primary and secondary schools under the ministry will start from Monday, Jan 4 and end on Friday, Nov 18, 2016.

SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that the school year for 2016 for all primary and secondary schools under the ministry will start from Monday, Jan 4 and end on Friday, Nov 18, 2016.
The MOE, in a press release today (Sept 14), said this takes into account 40 weeks of curriculum time for teaching and learning before the start of the national examinations. It also includes six weeks of school vacation at the end of year for teachers and students, the ministry added.
MOE also released the vacation schedule for schools, junior colleges and centralised institutes.
The scheduled school holidays and public holidays for 2016 will be as follows:
