40 new Covid-19 infections in Singapore, including 13 imported cases and 4 in community
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Sunday (Sept 6) confirmed 40 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore, including 13 imported and four cases in the community — all of whom are work pass holders.

The remaining 23 are foreign workers staying in dormitories.
And for the second consecutive day, three new clusters in foreign worker dormitories were identified.
They are: Cassia@Penjuru (15 Penjuru Walk), CDPL Tuas Dormitory (6 Tuas South Street 15) and Kranji Lodge I (12 Kranji Road).
MOH said that among the 40 new cases, 38 are asymptomatic.
Of the 13 imported cases, four are Singaporeans and two are permanent residents who returned to Singapore from India between Aug 24 and 26, and the Philippines on Aug 25.
Another six are work pass or work permit holders currently employed in Singapore who arrived from India, Indonesia and the Philippines between Aug 23 and 25. The remaining case is a student’s pass holder who arrived from India on Aug 25.
The four community cases are work pass or work permit holders, and all are asymptomatic. Two of them are unlinked.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of three cases a day in the week before, to an average of two a day in the past week.

Singapore's tally of Covid-19 cases now stands at 57,022.
MOH said that 66 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged, taking the number who have recovered to 56,333.
There are currently 51 patients who are still in hospital and none is in the intensive care unit. Another 611 with mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated and cared for at community facilities.
Twenty-seven have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
